WOMAN DIRECTOR- A NEW CONCEPT IN COMPANY ACT 2013

 WOMAN DIRECTOR:
                                                A new concept has been incorporated by the company act 2013 by introducing woman in the board of director in the form of woman director. It is not only a new concept but also recognition of importance of woman in the corporate sector.

APPOINTMENT OF WOMAN DIRECTOR:

Classes of companies:

1.       Every listed company.
2.       Every public unlisted company subject to the following condition:
ð  Paid up capital >= 100 crore.
                Or
ð  Turnover >= 300 crore.

   No of woman director:
                                                 At least one woman director.

Intermittent vacancy:
ð  Filled by the board of director.
ð  Whichever is later:
ð  Three month     Or     next board meeting.

Transitional Period:
                                       One year.

New company:

                            A newly established company which is incorporated under this act and satisfy above condition should comply the provision of sub-section (1) of section 149 regarding the appointment of woman director within 6 months.
