Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, in her 2023-24 budget speech announced a new scheme for woman or girl the Mahila Samman Savings Certificate. This scheme is launched for two years, till march 2025. The scheme will invite a deposit of up to 2 lakh at a fixed interest rate of 7.5% for the duration of two years. These means one can earn an interest of Rs. 30000 in two years for the maximum amount deposited. The scheme will be eligible for partial withdrawal.
